Wilmslow Town Football Club was founded by current Chairman Erik Garner and group of football loving parents who decided to set up a community based junior football club in the spring of 2009.
Erik runs the Wilmslow Football Academy (WFA) coaching youngsters from as young as pre-school age and it was apparent at the time that there weren’t enough opportunities for youngsters to join a team in the local area.
The club started the 2009/10 season with 3 teams and grew rapidly over the next few years with players and managers being recruited from within WFA.
Today the club has 39 teams and almost 500 players from u7’s through to U18’s and enjoys a rapidly growing girls section too.
The club is driven by parent volunteers and most of the teams play in the Timperley and District Junior League and some are now playing in the newly formed MYSL based in Manchester. Our girls teams play in the Stockport League.
In 2010 the club gained FA Charter Standard status and we are very proud to have been awarded the honour every year since.
